April 2005

So, it will be a short one this month. Only because all I have to talk about is iSync and Entourage and ctrl+alt+del and other such stuff...just wait till I actually start recording on it I think it might be safer for me to discuss things like politics after all!

Anyway, I'm rambling. I can always tell you know. Its the same if I have too much coffee. I can always tell when I am talking rubbish question is CAN YOU?

Right, shut it, onto my very short diary for April...

April...

I'm just sitting wondering what to write...not much happened in April then I remember!

I was narrating a radio series called Jimmy the Ninja, to go out on FPR in July. I was a bit nervous and stuff because, I hadn't really done that sort of thing well, ever really. That is if you don't count my foray into acting in '99'.

Yes, I was in Britain's first ever equity professional mixed abilities cast play with SOP. I can't remember the name of my character, but I do remember that the show was called 'Johnny be happy'. It was a play about a guy who used to be in a punk rock band but since having been hit on the head by a lighting rig (of course), the guy had turned a little strange and went from being 'Johnny be Nasty' punk rocker to a nice guy! I was his girlfriend and, well, one of my first lines was quite astounding, if a little fast...

'ohmygodjohnnybenastyIdon'tbelieveit...' I don't think I paused for breath during its whole four week tour! Thank god I can sing in tune.

Anyway, back to Jimmy the Ninja. The whole plot is every bit as mental as Johnny and every bit as much fun. I got to be the narrator and was at home, practicing, just reading it out a bit like the news really till Caitlin, my beloved god-daughter, decided to give me some direction. There I was, my debut (let's try to forget the Johnny be happy thing) taking notes from an eleven year old. Let's hope that she's good at it, cos I took everything she said on board and read it out till it made her laugh. I'll let you know when its going out you just know that you wanna listen!

I also got my new computer this week I have decided that she is a girl and she is to be called Izzy iBook. Then when I really think about it, I realise that I really have to grow up a bit, a lot actually.

I am Ms. PC and so, it will take me a wee while to work my way around this new MacToy, but hopefully when I do, I will have a new album at the same time that and a matching set of luggage under each eye!

April also introduced me to a new live act. Someone had asked me to go along and see The HoneyRiders 'an all-female US act...first time in the UK' he said. Okay, I can do that I thought. So, got to the gig, wiv ma pal Lynne and on came this amazingly attractive and sexy singer with an English accent. Okay, well, this sure aint her first time in the UK. Neither were the rest of the band 'all-female'. More like 'all he-male'! It was three blokes from the West End of London who were the band. Now, I am hoping that someone got their wires crossed, either that, or I need some therapy. I thought that the band were okay, but Lynne loved them and bought their CD. Apparently Terry Wogan is playing them a lot.

And, that was it for April. I have honestly spent many hours in front of the new computer just wait till I get the music software on it then I really will be campaigning for 32 hour days.

One last very bad, very sad thing about April some bad news about Neo. I think he has a very short time left with us! It turns out that I have been driving him in a pretty bad state. His thingmy shaft has snapped apparently while someone was trying to steal him. And not only that, his thingmy thing isnt firing from the thingmy, causing the thingmy to you-know-what! Acht, its very sad...but there's still hope, I will let you know as time goes by its just that I don't know how much time he has.

Question is, do I go ahead and get a new one? (not that I could ever replace neo) Answers in an e-mail please...!

Anyway, whatever happens with Neo, you can rest assured that I will talk about the election during May's diary.

Meantime, be well, happy, healthy and warm and be sure to have a bag of chips when you're hungry.

All the best.

Carol
